I’ve decided that i’m going to give myself a break from the army for a few days. i’m still enthusiastic, but i’ve seen quite enough of green-stuff capes and spartans for now!
I broke my 0.8mm pinning vice bit, so i can’t pin stuff properly too, i only have 1mm bits now, and either 0.8 or 0.9 mm diameter paperclips (used for pinning!), as a result, neither fit very well in the hole, meaning pinning has become even more of a chore, but when you have to stick together spears into hands that arn’t supposed to have them, or put heads onto marauders that just arn’t supposed to go, and your going to have to put a neck on them at a later date, you sort of need to pin stuff! FRUSTRATING!
on the plus side, i now have a giant, arrived today. its one of the old orc and goblin giants. The giant i had, (the classic marauder one) was a bit… beyond redemption (at least as far as making a cyclops went, i’m still confident that i would make it into something else at a later date… maybe in the next army…?). This one is oging to be a (relatively) simple conversion to make into a cyclops, just sculpting an eye. i’ve never done that before, so it could be another challenge! this army is really helping my putty skills, i’ve noticed a fair improvement already! and i have crap loads left to do yet!
this week i’ll be doing uni stuff, and my D&D character (i’m a player too!) Terminus, chosen cleric of the raven queen, scourge of the undead and champion of the fire titan Chariess.. He’s pretty bad ass, i might get some completed photos of him up when i’m done. im trying a converted base with water effects on it to look like a swamp with a few sketletal bodies thrown in for good measure! something else new!
Terminus is seriously kit bashed, bits used:
Catachan jungle fighter legs, body and lower half of the head (!), tomb kings skeleton upper head, marauder arms and shoulder pads, chaos space marine gauntlets, dark angels acessories (a book and a banner top thingy) purity seals, his hammer is made from a high elf spearmen banner pole topped with a standard dwarf hammer top decorated with wings from the top of said high elf banner. and he has the claok from the high elf archers set! add onto that a whole load of greenstuff chainmail and tabbard and cowl, and you might have an idea.
maybe you will need pictures. if i get him finished, i’ll take a photo or 2. he’s basecoated already, so it could well happen this week!
Cheers

Your projects sound really sweet! Post pics for sure. I like that you are mixing so much stuff into your D&D model. That can be tricky to do sometimes if all the seperate parts don’t blend together well. I’d love to see how it turns out!
